School Uniform
We appreciate the importance of keeping the cost of school uniform competitive and all logo-free items can be purchased from anywhere.
We do ask that items with the school logo are purchased from our uniform stockist, Smarty Schoolwear. These are priced fairly and are of good quality.
Smarty Schoolwear has a shop based in Potters Bar which can be visited or alternatively parents can order online for collection or delivery.

Uniform
The smart appearance of Christ Church pupils has contributed to the school’s excellent reputation, of which we are justly proud.
School uniform is compulsory, strictly observed and extends to the PE kit. All items of uniform must be clearly labelled or marked with the child’s name. No jewellery or make up may be worn and studs only for pierced ears.
We all want our children to look smart as well as keeping school uniform affordable and comfortable. We ask that parents support us in encouraging their children to take a pride in their appearance and to abide by the rules that have been outlined in the School Uniform List. Please label every item.

Nursery
There is no official nursery uniform but we recommend:
• an optional logoed red sweatshirt and polo shirt.
• any style or colour bottoms that are comfortable, practical and allow for independent toileting, changing and movement.

If cycling shorts are worn underneath skirts for modesty, they are to be navy blue or grey and not extend below the skirt when standing

• Plain navy blue round-necked jumper or full zip-up fleece (school logo optional; no hoodies or partial zips)

• Optional: navy blue or black ‘skins’/base layer in colder weather.
• Swimwear and hat for Years 3, 4 and 5 (any colour, no bikinis)
Aside from the school logo, no other logos or different colours are permitted on any part of the uniform. No jewellery (aside from stud earrings and discrete jewellery worm for religious purposes is allowed); no nail varnish or make-up to be worn; hair ties are natural or school colours.
The Halo Code
Our school champions the right of staff and students to embrace all Afro-hairstyles. We acknowledge that Afro-textured hair is an important part of our Black staff and students’ racial, ethnic, cultural, and religious identities, and requires specific styling for hair health and maintenance.
We welcome Afro-textured hair worn in all styles including, but not limited to, afros, locs, twists, braids, cornrows, fades, hair straightened through the application of heat or chemicals, weaves, wigs, headscarves, and wraps.
At this school, we recognise and celebrate our staff and students’ identities. We are a community built on an ethos of equality and respect where hair texture and style have no bearing on anyone’s ability to succeed.
How to obtain second-hand uniform
Our school is committed to the environment, recycling and reusing good quality items and setting a good example for our children.
The Parent-Teacher Association “The Friends” run a system to recycle outgrown or unwanted good quality school uniform.
Throughout the year outgrown uniform can be delivered directly to the drop box storage container whichislocatedoutsidetheYear2classroom.
The storage box contains outgrown uniform which can be taken by families at any time.
The PTA also host regular exchanges/sales.
